Hilary's First novel 'Elixir' is set to come out This month (October 12th according to her site)

"Clea Raymond has felt the glare of the spotlight her entire life. The daughter of a renowned surgeon and a prominent Washington DC politician, she has grown to be a talented photojournalist who takes refuge in a career that allows her to travel to the most exotic parts of the world. But after Clea's father disappears while on a humanitarian mission, Clea's photos begin to feature eerie, shadowy images of a strange and beautiful man—a man she has never seen before.
When fate brings Clea and this man together, she is stunned by the immediate and powerful connection she feels with him. As they grow closer, they are drawn deep into the mystery behind her father's disappearance, and they discover the centuries old truth behind their intense bond. Torn by a dangerous love triangle and haunted by a powerful secret that holds their fates, together they race against time to unravel their pasts in order to save their lives—and their futures."

The coolest Barbie ever!...

When i was a kid Barbie consumed most of my time.
I had the Mansion, the camper van,the stables,the horses,the beach house,the Porsche car,the makeover torso
everything.

I now have 6 tubs full of Barbies,Ken's & Kelly (and her friends)
Every Thursday night after Moonbeams/Sunbeams;;
(Salvation army's version of Girl scouts)
If i was good,and i wore my uniform correctly,and i didn't argue that i didn't want to go that night my mummy would buy me a Barbie (or Barbie accessory)
I loved Barbie.

And as much as I adore the plastic fantastic (unrealistic) image of beauty
and associate most of my childhood with Barbie..
I still cannot contemplate spending $510,000 on one.
This IS the Ultimate Barbie!
Canturi and his favorite girl.

Sydney jeweler Stefano Canturi in association with Mattel has created
'Bling Barbie', A one-of-a-kind doll showing off a one-carat Australian argyle pink diamond necklace designed by Canturi who also designed Barbies stilettos, strapless dress, hair & make-up!
The jewelry pieces include over three carats of diamonds; a Canturi necklace with a one carat, emerald cut pink diamonds and a stunning diamond ring on her right hand.
"I wanted the jewelry design to pay homage to Barbie's modern yet timeless style, this is why I applied my Cubism design concept to her look; it is perfect for her,"-Canturi.

 After Barbie tours cites like New York,Geneva & Hong Kong Barbie will then be auctioned at the famous Christie's Auction House in NYC on October 20th.2010 with all proceeds going towards The Breast Cancer foundation.
Great cause.
Great idea.
But i have to wonder who has this kind of money lying around that they can just fitter away at auction;let alone on a hunk of plastic wearing an designer outfit and ice to match?
She better secretly talk or walk or have long lasting plastic!

Oh...and did you know that Barbie and Ken broke up In 2004!!!
(Mattel announced the split but didn't say why..weird)
I was wondering why all my Ken's were in separate tubs then my Barbies.

What would you dress your ultimate Barbie in?

Hail to the Queen of Style...

Finally..
The Bible has arrived!

&&
Yes i did buy it asap,
Yes i have already read it
....and Yes it is as fabulous as she is =]

'Style' is basically a "how-to-build-your-wardrobe-guide"
Instead of a "if your a pear wear this..."

Its like an all inclusive personal stylist.
And when i say all inclusive i mean it.
....
LC doesn't just go through your wardrobe..
she raids your make-up bag,
takes you shoe shopping,
and books in a hairstylist appointment for you.

And to tell you the truth.. it's a really good read.
She wrote the book as if she was talking to you as a friend
Not Lauren Conrad-Queen of Style.

And..'Sugar & spice'
the third book in the  'L.A candy' series is out as well!
I'm only up too Chapter 8 but already i love it.
I walked home cause i couldn't stop reading!
I will find out who Madison really is if it's the last thing i read!
When I finish it ill tell you exactly how good it is!

But if you take anything from this blog post-
...
Buy 'Style'-you'll laugh & learn at the same time.
hands up who knew that was possible?
lmao

I hope your having a great weekend!

Polly Dolly

The Talent behind the magick-Dannimezza
This weeks theme?-
Mellow Yellow

I have to confess that i hate the color Yellow.
It probably stems from the fact that my most hated primary school teacher
insisted on writing on the Chalk board with yellow
cause it was her favorite color...
even though we couldn't see it.
=[
(dont worry i got my revenge...when we got the new carpet that she begged the school board for I had a massive Blister on my heel like the size of a golf ball and it pop'ed and exploded all of the brand new-two day old carpet! Bahahahaha.... Too much info? hehehe sorry!)

Lel-low
In saying that yellow is like red..
It can be too much...
but it looks amazing with black.
I fell in love with this tribal ring that adds a little more "statement" to the outfit.
As you can tell i kept this look a little playful-but still sophisticated with the Pinafore high neck dress, and pumps.

Liquid mascara and Long eyelashes are all you need to make dramatic eyes with this outfit-
Keeping the rest of the make up light and easy.
Add a yellow or black Alice band to turn up the playful side a little.
I hope you enjoyed this look!

Inspiration.

Kelly Smith;;
I thought I'd share these with you;
As i feel so inspired every time i look at Kelly's work;
I want the careful lines and steady hand,
the eye for detail and perfection.
She is a great source of inspiration and a idol for me.
She is so super talented,
her work literally makes me gasp.

I look up to her work and wish i could surround myself with it.
Her style is so whimsical,playful & delicate.
It's like living in a world of silk and organza.

I wish i lived in Kelly's world of delicate possibilities
and Cinderella like dreams.

 Kelly's Blog;;

I do not own these pictures. I used the tag "my art" on this post so that you could also see my post about mine without searching for it.

Classy Summer Classic's...

It's officially getting hotter.
Air-cons are being switched on for the first time in months.
Ice cream sales are rising,
And Havianas are back to being the shoe of choice.

But just because the temperature is rising
doesn't mean you have to make everyone's eyebrows rise with it.
You can still have that beachy look without looking like a bitch.

Look one;;
Denim shorts are a beach bum must!..
but that doesn't mean your bum has to hang out of them.
Three quarter shorts still keep you cool..
and looking cool,
without risking...exposure.
Add a loose fitting tank over your favorite swimmers.
those trusty havianas,
Sunglasses, and a fedora hat to cover the top of your beach hair.

Look two;;
okay im only gonna say this once.
'Skirts don't have to be tight!!!!'
working in retail; i have literally heard 13years say
"the tighter the better"
I have one response.
"NO"
flora prints are in this summer.
they are so simple to wear and nearly impossible to make look terrible.
Wear with a plain tank top
Add a chunky belt to smooth the transition between
no patten and patten.
Team with Gladiator sandles for a nice "shopping at the mall"
alternative to Havianas.
flora prints are the perfect excuse to wear flower jewelery =]

Look three;;
Ahh the maxi dress.
The simple " i cant be f***ed trying today" plan b.
unfortunately with maxi dresses it's super easy to do too much..
Keep in mind-
K.I.S.S
Keep It Simple Stupid.
I'm In love with this maxi.. =]
the jeweled sandles cover for the lack of jewelery.
Add a statement bangle with a plain maxi for just a little show.
Simple ;)

Enjoy this beautiful weather,
But dress like a lady.
And be smart about the weather too.
Be sun wise & wear a hat,
sunglasses
AND
sunscreen.

Is there something in your wardrobe you can't wait to wear this summer?

Polly dolly..

The Lovely lady in red behind all this fun;; Danimezza
This weeks theme;;
Lady in red...

lady in red

I love red.
Its so expressive...and sexy & passionate.
You can convey a whole vibe just from wearing it.
I also love black and red together.
They tie together so nicely...
I choose to use velvet shoes and handbag as it adds a classy touch to the gown.
This necklace is so pretty and alot like the one i wore to my year 10 formal...
actually this look is opposite  to my formal look....

you cant see the necklace well but you get the idea.
(wow do i look different there...yicks! )
=]

Happy long weekend...
